Elevate Games: Kids Outside? We Got This in the Bag!

On Tuesday, September 17th, Elevate Youth staff hosted their fourth annual Elevate Games, bringing together over one-hundred people at Cisco Brewers in the Seaport. This event supports helping local youth explore the outdoors alongside dedicated mentors. It was a night filled with great food and drinks, lots of laughs, and flying beanbags!

The main event of the evening was the cornhole tournament, which was sponsored by MassBio, Cartesian Inc, Atomic Coffee, Discovery Life Sciences, and Titus Wealth Partners of the Rockefeller Global Family. 18 teams faced off in a fierce, but friendly, competition facilitated by Boston Cornhole. Teams such as the Beanbag Bandits, the Corn Fritters and the Caffeine Crusaders played two games each, with the top winners moving on to a single elimination round.

Throughout the evening, our live auction picked up in competition, too.Garden Society Bruins tickets, a ½ share produce and protein box from Family Dinner, and a Patagonia-Costa bundle were hot items! Thank you to all of our friends who donated to the auction: Red Sox Foundation, Patagonia Fly Fishing, Public Lands, Stio, EasyMoc, TreeTop Adventures, Piers Park Sailing, the Griswold Family, Captain Tom Schaefer, Eno Hammocks and Accessories, and photographer Waddy Stryker.

Toward the end of the excitement, it came down to Mike and Ed against Jeff and Brian. Jeff and Brian, from Discovery Life Sciences, quickly reached 21 points, taking the title as this year’s cornhole champions! In addition, Aidan Doherty won the prize for best cornhole swag with his style and smooth throws.

Overall, Elevate Youth raised about $25,000 with your generous support! Thanks to you, youth in Boston will have the opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities this year that they may have otherwise never experienced. We cannot wait to take our youth on trips such as mountain biking and skiing, and support them in weekly after-school enrichment sessions that encourage social and emotional development, leadership, and outdoor skills. We could not be more grateful for your support, and look forward to seeing more bags fly next fall.
